, We are almost halfway through the year! The students did an outstanding job with the Christmas performance. We are looking forward to their production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town in February. The biggest project is their preparation for the spring Academic Fair. There will be a variety of presentations from science experiments to world cultures and the support that Kiva. org gives through microloans, to research on topics of interest.
Math 6The sixth grade will be exploring negative numbers factors and powers. Future units will cover multiplication and division of decimals, division of fractions, and ratios. Language Arts 8 The eighth grade is developing their literary analysis and writing skills. Material has ranged from Thornton Wilder's Our Town, which will be performed in February, to a variety of genres on injustice. They are beginning research on a topic interest which will culminate in a documented four to five page research paper. Religion 7 The seventh grade has explored strategies for being peace builders. They are finding connections between peacemaking skills and examples from Scripture. The students researched peacemakers and organizations that have worked for peace. They are developing stepping stones for peace for the rest of the school community to read. |
About Mrs. Lidinsky
This is my 26th year at SFA! I was born and raised in Baltimore and attended Catholic schools throughout my education from grade school to graduate school. I have a master's in special education with a Certificate of Advanced Study in Education focusing on reading. I recently finished coursework toward certification in administration and supervision. I enjoy teaching religion in the seventh grade and language arts in the middle school along with math 6. I am looking forward to developing curriculum enhanced by the principles of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. My hobbies are running and piano. |
