Science 6
6/12/14
In Science this year we will cover a little bit of everything. The curriculum is designed to cover topics from Biology to Chemistry to Earth Science. This will be completed through lecture sessions with some note taking, interactive class activities, and long term projects. Information on the projects will be found on the Project page while all other information can be found on this page.
Our discussions and work will focus on the Scientific Method as the major tool to discover the solutions to mysteries of our universe. There a varying methods to this process, but I will present the students with the inquiry format that we will utilize. This is the format that they will be expected to follow. The students will also be required to complete a current event report each week. The topics will be given to them on Monday or Tuesday of each week. The format for how these will be completed will be given during the first two weeks of school.
Another aspect of this class will be the attention to detail based upon the directions and rubrics that will be used to assess student work. For example, if the question asks for three answers, three answers are expected. Please pay close attention to the directions and rubrics that will be given.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
